If you are looking to lose weight you know you must burn more calories than you take in. Basically everything you do burns calories, but the small things that you do that burn calories cannot be relied on to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, there are many little things you can do that will add up over time. You must combine these with exercise though because they are just too small to be effective alone. Tip 1: Fidget
Just fidgeting around can burn up to 350 calories a day. Sometimes you never even realize that you are fidgeting. 350 calories a day is great for not really doing anything. If you find yourself fidgeting throughout the day, don’t stop. You are only helping yourself.
Tip 2: Stand
Whenever you can, you should choose to stand. Standing has been proven to burn up to 50 percent more calories than sitting. When you find yourself sitting down, unnecessarily, stand up and burn those calories.
Tip 3: Pace
Pacing around can burn up to 90 calories more than if you were standing. A good time to pace is whenever you are talking on the phone. Those are some easily burnable calories.
Tip 4: Get a Treadmill
If you can afford one, you should buy one. You can set it up right in front of your TV and walk or run. If you walk one mile in one hour you burn 100 calories. I would say you could walk at least three miles in an hour. The burnable calories just keep adding up!
Tip 5: Drink Green Tea
Green tea is known to help people burn calories, basically because it barley has any calories in it. Next time you go to pick up a soda, think about it and get the green tea instead. Soda is a very unhealthy choice. An even better idea is to drink green tea while it is cold. Cold beverages use calories to warm them up inside of your body. Doing this can burn around 70 calories a day.
Tip 6: Turn Up the AC
When you are cold and shivering your body burns calories to warm you up. This can burn up to 7 percent of your calories. That is a pretty good amount of calories for doing basically nothing. You can also do this if it is cold outside, but watch out for getting sick.
