I was watching a YouTube video the other day that said taking a cold shower improves your health and looks. It kind of interested me, so I started doing some research on cold shower benefits. I found out a couple of things that are improved just by taking a cold shower, so I started taking them myself.
By taking a cold shower I don’t mean take your entire shower with freezing cold water. If you do that you are insane! I mean taking most of your shower in warm water and then finish off the last few minutes in cool water. Besides, warm showers just feel too good to give up completely.
When you take a cold shower you will have better circulation. When you take a warm shower all the blood rushes to your skin, while taking a cold shower leads your blood to your organs. When you take a warm shower to start and switch towards the end your blood is forced to move around your body. Improving your circulation is great because it helps prevent hypertension, hardening of the arteries, and the appearance of varicose veins. Cold showers also help your system, which helps make you look and feel great!
Another benefit of taking a cold shower is better looking skin. Warm water will open up your pores, which is good because you wash and all the dirt and oil out during the shower. If you switch to cold water before you get out of the shower you will close your pores up, preventing any dirt from getting clogged in them, which can cause skin imperfections. Cold water also constricts your blood vessels reducing swelling. It also helps get rid of the dark circles under your eye. Cold showers make your skin look extremely healthy.
In addition to the making your skin healthy, another cold shower benefit is healthier hair. Cold water actually makes your hair look shinier. People love shiny. Cold water closes the cuticle in your hair, so it prevents dirt and gives you stronger hair. If you have stronger hair, it will not be easily lost, like when you brush your hair, or just over time. Cold showers can make your hair look extremely healthy.
Cold showers just don’t make you look good, they make you think better! After you wake up, you aren’t really awake are you? No, you are probably really tired, and don’t want to move or do anything. Well, a cold shower is your answer to this problem. They will help you wake up in the morning. It will give you tons of energy! Taking a 30 second cold shower at the end of your shower will help increase your short term memory, and helps with focus. I can definitely say that I have been able to focus easier, since I’ve been taking them.
There are definitely cold shower benefits. If you are one of those people that can’t steer away from warm showers, I suggest gradually getting into the cold shower. The first time I did it, I only lasted about 10 seconds, but now I can go almost 5 minutes. Keep going longer every day, and soon you will be able to last a few minutes in the cold and be able to receive all of these advantages.
